What We Do

Window Watchers

The foundation of our organization: become a trained observer, from your home, yard or business. With as little as 1 1/2 hours training you will become part of neighborhood and city wide network of volunteers that make a difference. Meet other neighbors that have chosen not to be a victim of crime and seek the knowledge to prevent crimes on their property. Learn techniques to improve the physical security of your home, business or automobile.

Our members patrol by foot, bike auto and internet to provide reliable information to the public safety pros. Meet your neighbors and improve the quality of life for yourself and your family, friends and associates. Learn more about the inner workings of police, fire and public safety pros. Learn how to use our “State of the Art” city-wide radio communications network to talk to the Public Safety Communications Center and other members of the “Watch”.

Child and Adult Find

Working with the Schenectady Police Department, our specially trained volunteers search for lost children and adults.

Patrol Communications Specialists

The dreadful events of the World Trade Center disaster and hurricanes like Katrina have shown us that we must be prepared in the event of a man-made or natural disaster to communicate to the outside world. As great as our modern telecommunications and computers have aided in improving our lives, they may be the first to go in a disaster of local or regional scope. Our PCS Training and Planning can help you volunteer to be a part of the solution for your neighborhood or block. Using our city-wide communications network, you will be linked to SCHEMO, SEMO and FEMA, for a system we hope we never have to use.
